Now some people won’t like me saying this, but the fact remains…

There are tens of thousands of aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs wasting their time, energy, and money every year – while their message and mission continue to go unfulfilled.

They spend endless time consuming marketing programs, products, and trainings that promise the ability to become a six or seven figure-earning, recognized expert…

To build your email list by thousands of people…

To grow your following, start your movement, or create a sustainable flow of new clients.

If you ask the trainers from most of these programs, they’ll sheepishly admit that only about 10% of their students get great results…

The other 90%? They need another program – that’s it.  Just one more program will give them the REAL keys to the kingdom.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions PLAGUING an industry of transformational leaders…

People with knowledge and bodies of work that change lives, heal relationships, empower businesses, restore health, and inspire spiritual progress…

Most of whom have unfortunately (and unknowingly) bought into a horribly profitable lie.

“Take this course, and you can market like a pro, just like me! Follow what I do, and your business will thrive.”

Nope!

The truth is, marketing is both an art and a science.  It takes skill and experience to do it right…

Especially if you’re marketing something that is leading edge that the world hasn’t seen before, or that is offering a new opportunity for your ideal client.

If what you do is on the leading edge of your marketplace then you especially can’t rely on these “1-2-3 easy success systems” to bring you real results.

Why?

Well, there’s a multitude of reasons for this…

The most important to acknowledge is that marketing is a PROFESSION all on its own.

So instead he thinks something like, “Wow, crickets again.  Maybe I’m not cut out for this? Maybe people don’t want what I have…”

And instead of recognizing this insidious fairytale he has unknowingly bought into…

He doubts his work, his calling, his ability, his competence, and his path or purpose.

James has bought into the billion dollar lie of the info-marketing “teach you to market” training space.

But still…

His calling will not relinquish him…

So James picks himself up and starts again.  

He buys another course or hires another service provider (who will provide some of, but not ALL of what he really needs) and declares, “Things will be different this time!”

And the cycle continues.

It’s happening right now, all across the industry…

People with leading edge wisdom to share with the world…

Who spend their money, time, and energy trying to do “marketing as a side hobby” or “second job title” and then wonder why it’s not working.

Why oh why is it not working?

The very simple answer is that leading edge marketing is a full time gig! It is not something you do well as a hobby.  And if your body of work is leading edge, you need leading edge marketing to match.

Seems simple or obvious when you say it out loud…

But when you look out into the marketplace, filled with successful leaders who have hundreds of thousands of followers and multi-seven, eight, or nine figure businesses…

All telling you, “Hey James, easy as pie. 1, 2, 3…Follow my email marketing templates and have people eating out of your hands, begging to buy your courses!”

The simple fact is that for most people, this isn’t true… especially for those with a leading edge body of work (we discuss more about that in this article here).

The reason why this matters is not because I’m trying to pitch you on using my company by turning you off from learning marketing on your own…

No, it’s bigger than that.

(Though it’s true…you should partner with a company that understands your needs and can execute your marketing at a level of genius comparable to the level of genius you already bring to your work…)

This article is being written as a battle cry

For those with a body of work and ALREADY EXISTING MASTERY to STOP signing up for digital marketing courses – believing that you should be able to implement them effectively in your business.

It takes team.  It takes systems.  It takes time in the trenches…

And I personally don’t want to wait another four years for you to finish fumbling through the marketing newbie zone in order for your body of work, your message, your mission, your impact to get out into this world.

The world needs your genius NOW…

And what the world certainly DOESN’T need is any more smart people, with amazing work to deliver, deciding to become newbies at marketing, and sucking at for years

Attempting to master marketing on your own (when that’s NOT your gift to give to others) leaves your message dead in the water.

And here’s the real kicker…

If you have a body of work…

Meaning, you have developed something that gives people an outstanding result…

You should be a seven figure earning entrepreneur at minimum.

I don’t care that I don’t know your business…

It’s just the nature of the interconnected global marketplace.  Seven figures is easy in today’s world… if you’ve got something of true value to deliver.

But for as long as you go unsupported, without a team, trying to learn marketing on your own… you’re going to stay in the land of the fake-preneurs

The people who don’t actually have a real shot at making a global impact.

Now, what’s possible once you realize this lie you’ve been sold?

Change.

You can do something different.

You can get REAL support…

And it all starts with a simple commitment.

Commit to playing ONLY in your genius zone.
